Were Ross and Rachel really made for each other ?

If you have just started watching friends you probably think that Ross and Rachel are made for each other. Its normal to think so as the writer wants us to think so. Remember the first episode of the series. Ross has just found out his wife is lesbian and he was hanging out in the central perk talking to his friends, stating that he did not want to be single again, his marriage had just fallen apart. At the same moment entered Rachel in the bride dress. This made the first impression in our mind that Ross and Rachel will end up together. As Rachel was best friend of Monica (Ross's Sister), they had seen each other a lot before, in fact Ross had a huge crush on Rachel. From the plot the writer convinced us to think that Ross and Rachel were made for each other. But after watching all the episode of friend I got washed up with the feeling. I think Ross and Rachel were not made for each other. Why ?

Lets go to the point when they were in relationship for the first time. They were doing just fine in fact they were doing great. What happened so much that they needed to break up. That was not even a reason to break up. If one of them were even in the right sense of mind frame and acted like adult they wouldn't have broken up at the first place. The reason they broke up was, Rachel had just got new job in the Fashion field (Her dream job), she was working hard to make a mark in the field, to do so she was getting close to a friend there in the same job, they worked day and till late night. It had been a while since Ross and Rachel met, so Ross decided to celebrate their 1 year anniversary so that they could catch up their life and be closer, and the date was fix. At the end Rachel could not come to the date because she had to work late again. Ross was broken however he came up with the stupid idea to go to Rachel office and celebrate the anniversary anyway, he reached there with picnic basket a champagne to celebrate their love. Rachel got very mad with Ross and send him home. Now seeing the situation both had a genuine reason for their act. Ross had not met Rachel for a while and it was not bad to ask time for his girlfriend. In defense of Rachel she had just started her work and it was not a crime to ask for a little time to let her settle in the work field. If both would have understood each other the fight would not have taken place.

Upon reaching their apartment, both were mad each other they didn't think the problem the other one had but both thought the other one had to apologize to other. They were having literally the worst fight at the same moment Ross dropped a bomb asking if she is seeing the other guy in her office. Ross in the sense of stopping the fight asked her to get break from the fight and go have some yogurt or something but Rachel asked to get break from their relationship instead. Ross being sad went to a bar with Chandler and Joey, who convinced him to call Rachel. Ross called Rachel only to find out  the guy from Rachel's office had come to Rachel's apartment. This made things even worse, Ross got drunk and slept with the other girl in the Bar which was a turning point in their relationship and they broke up for real.
Now at the point when I really thought what going on? What went wrong in their relationship. I found out at that both were selfish to each other. Both were wrong to a point. They really didn't sacrifice to each other, they wanted everything for themselves in the relationship without compromising anything. That the main thing that went wrong in the relationship.

While after they ended their relationship they were great as friend, I think they always should have been friend but no other. Every time they find another person in other's life, they would really be jealous. In fact if you ask me they could not leave seeing the other person happy in life. Especially Rachel, she had broken up Ross with so many good relationship, she even completely destroyed Ross marriage with Emily while she was the one who set up Ross with Emily. She was the reason Ross had to get divorce with Emily. Even Ross and Rachel got married in Vegas, but they discontinued their marriage. Rachel had broken up Ross many times, still Ross loved her. So I think Rachel did not deserve to be with Ross, because every bad thing (except his first marriage)  that happened in his life was because of Rachel.[left-sidebar]

So, Ross and Rachel were not made for each other.
