Pulsar 220f 2017 model review
Pulsar always have been a brand that provided us more quality with less price. It has been ruling the roads of here in Nepal since 2001 ( Since the very first model of pulsar) and over course of time there came different brands, different styles and different version of the pulsar and I am here to discuss about the new 2017 model of pulsar.
I have just bought new pulsar 220f (2017 model), and previously I had the previous model of pulsar( unfortunately the previous model was stolen so I had to buy the new model ) Talking about the experience with both pulsar I did not find much of the difference in them, but they both gave the very same riding experience. Talking about the new model :
2017 model:
The new pulsar derives its power from the same 220cc, 4 strokes, dtsi, single-cylinder engine, except that it caters BS-IV emission norms. The engine offers a maximum power of 20.8 BHP at 8500 rpm, and a maximum torque of 19.12 NM at 7000 rpm
Some specs are:
Displacement: 220 cc
Maximum Power: 20.8 Bhp @ 8500 rpm
Maximum Torque: 19.12 Nm @ 7000 rpm
No. of Cylinders: 1
No. of Gears: 5
Seat Height: 795 mm
Ground Clearance: 165 mm
Kerb/Wet Weight: 150 kg
Fuel Tank Capacity: 15 litres
Top Speed: 134 kmph
Auto canceling side indicators have been removed. the seats are more soft than the previous model, the display in the instrument cluster have been magnified, The seat height have been slight (noticeably increased). Previously upon not starting the engine for the long period of time , the head lamps would be turned off eventually but this features have been also removed, technically all the automatic system have been removed like auto choke, auto canceling side indicators, auto dimming of the head lamps.
But when you have the handle in your hand and start the bike you start to feel the difference even though the automatic features have been removed it does not matter, cause the power and confidence you getting on the wheels have been increased exponentially. The engine sound have been reduced, the power the bike received from the engine is unbelievable. The confidence it gives to overtake the vehicles in the busy traffic is unbelievable.
I got the mileage of 30-35 kmpl depending upon the road situation which is pretty god and I am satisfied with it.
I am very happy with this bike but if I had to chose between the new model and the previous model than I would chose the previous one, as it has more automatic feature than this
Until next time. be well be good.
And Do not drink and drive .
